A missing link between Abba and
Kraftwerk
Music: Bodies Without
Organs are actual with their first album Prototype. This is the
fourth time that Alexander Bard stakes so much on a band.
-
I have never been dreaming of
releasing a solo CD. A new album is made totally on laptops. For the
band it's hard to believe that the album will top the charts. But
they are sure that their audience will grow.
- Someone has described us as a missing link between Abba and
Kraftwerk. It is flattering and hits the mark, - says Alexander
Bard.
Bodies Without Organs have already conquered the Eastern Europe,
still they are quite unknown in Sweden. But their performance at the
Eurovision pre-selections was a step in a right direction. The band
came fifth in a half final in Linkoping.
- We couldn't be more content. We escaped being a jumbo, coming to
final and exposed ourselves to the media, - says Alexander Bard.
Besides Bard, the band consists of Marina Shipchenko and 22-years
old Martin Rolinski. The young singer started his career in a docu-soap
Popstars. But it's not due to this programme that he became a member
of Bodies Without Organs.
- Not at all. I hate talants shows, they are so awkward. I haven't
seen Martin in that show, - says Alexander Bard and Martin Rolinski
fills in: I felt totally misplaced and I detest regarding music as a
competition. But I knew that I wanted to work with singers.
Bodies Without Organs are very particular about emphasizing that
they make pop music. They easily regard themselves as Abba or
Roxette of the 21st century.
- We use to joke about who of us is Per Gessle and Marie Fredriksson.
Most often I become Marie, - says Alexander Bard.
